Meet Our CBD Farmers
John H moved to Scotch Valley Ranch over two decades ago from Tribeca in New York City in search for a healthier life away from the hubbub of the city. A farmer/entrepreneur, he started a hay and an architectural furniture business which now employs 20 local residents. After obtaining a New York State license to grow hemp in 2019, John bought the best hemp seeds for CBD and hired an expert grower from Colorado.
Michael C moved from Colorado to New York to be Scotch Valley lead grower. With over 20 years growing experience in the hemp industry, Michael has developed methods which produce the best hemp for CBD. He only adds natural ingredients to the hemp plant: water, pure worm castings, beneficial fungi and microbes. Sun and rain take care of the rest.
Alex A was raised on a farm in Siberia where his father grew hemp on the side. Alex saw firsthand how destructive alcohol can be to society in Russia. Moving to the United States 15 years ago, he is a firm believer in the value of cannabis as a plant that supports wellness. In addition to tending hemp plants, Alex also coordinates the administrative details of SVR.
Reena L’s family lived in Queens and moved to Delaware County for a healthier life. She has owned and managed restaurants and now works in education and tends to the hemp plants after work. At home she takes care of chickens, ducks, dogs, one iguana and a parrot.
Mark B grew up in Schoharie County, New York, and studied mechanical engineering at SUNY Delhi which led to work at General Electric and Phillips Medical. He is also a furniture and house builder. Mark is attracted to CBD for its wellness and community benefits.
